This 2-day weekend event is designed to give prospective BRASS, PERCUSSION, and COLOR GUARD auditionees the full Vanguard Experience (Drum Majors will not be evaluated at this audition camp, only the 2-day DFW camp). Throughout the weekend you’ll get a taste of drum corps life - sleeping in a gym, rehearsing with our world class staff, and more. 2. Review your audition materials
Brass: You will need to purchase your Audition Packet. You will also need to review the (link 2024 Visual Audition Material Google Folder.
Percussion & Colorguard: Your audition information is included in the Documents tab on your account upon filling out the Prospective Member Questionnaire.
3. RSVP/sign-up to attend this event
4. Pay the registration fee (see below)
5. Fill out the registration paperwork once it is sent to you via email
REGISTRATION FEE:
The registration fee for this audition is $150 when paying in advance or $200 when paying on the day of the event. Full payment is required for participation. This fee is payable online through MySCV.
If you are a brass or percussion prospective member and receive a callback, it will be mandatory that you attend the January Callback Camp in the DFW, TX area to complete your evaluation toward full membership in the 2024 Santa Clara Vanguard (exact dates to be announced).
If you are a color guard prospective member and receive a SCV contract or callback, it will be mandatory that you attend the April Callback Camp in the DFW, TX area to complete your evaluation toward full membership in the 2024 Santa Clara Vanguard (exact dates to be announced).
CHECK IN:
When you come to check-in for your audition, you must present a valid school or government issued photo ID (a map of the school campus will be shared with you prior to the event). We will check to confirm you have completed your digital paperwork (Adobe Forms sent via email). Keep in mind that if you are under 18, your mySCV account must have parent contact information as your emergency contact and a parent/guardian signature is required on these forms.
SCHEDULE/ACCOMMODATIONS:
Doors will open for registration at 7:15 AM on Saturday morning. Please do not arrive at the school before then. After check-in there will be a meeting with corps management before prospective members break off into sections. Throughout the weekend, our staff will observe how you work within the group and conduct individual auditions to determine your overall grade for the weekend. We will finish on Sunday afternoon around 3:00 PM.
Don’t forget to bring an air mattress, toiletries, and a towel. Need a packing list? Here is our suggested packing list!
Meals are provided for camp attendees, starting with Lunch on Saturday and ending with a snack on Sunday afternoon. Please make sure to eat breakfast before coming for registration on Saturday!
To ensure your safety and security, all SCV audition camps operate as a closed campus. No one is permitted to leave the campus unless you have approval from the corps director. If you have any conflicts with the schedule, please let us know as soon as possible.
TRANSPORTATION:
Those flying into the audition to join us for the weekend should fly into SJC. Housing will not be provided Friday evening if you are flying to this audition camp. Please try to time your departure from the airport after 5:00 PM on Sunday. Our audition camp is a short 15-minute drive to/from the SJC airport.
