1. Create a MySCV account or Log-in
2. Fill out the 2023 Prospective Member Questionnaire
3. RSVP/sign-up to attend this event
4. Pay the registration fee (see below)
5. Fill out a shuttle request if you require transportation
6. Fill out the registration paperwork to submit online
REGISTRATION FEE:
The registration fee for this audition is $150 when paying in advance or $200 when paying on the day of the event. Full payment is required for participation, and no previous year credits may be used. This fee is payable online through MySCV.
If you are a brass or percussion auditionee and receive an SCV callback, it will be mandatory that you attend the December Callback Camp in the DFW area (December 16-18) to complete your evaluation toward full membership in the 2023 Santa Clara Vanguard.
If you are auditioning for the color guard and receive a SCV callback, it will be mandatory that you attend the April Callback Camp in the Bay Area (April 28-30) to complete your evaluation toward full membership in the 2023 Santa Clara Vanguard.
CHECK IN:
When you come to check-in for your audition, you must present a school or government issued photo ID. Next, we check to confirm you have completed your digital paperwork (Adobe Forms sent via email). Keep in mind that if you are under 18, your mySCV account must have parent contact information as your emergency contact and a parent's signature is required on these forms. Upon successfully completing the registration process, you will be provided with a wristband and name tag to mark your participation.
SCHEDULE/ACCOMMODATIONS:
Doors will open for registration at 6:00 PM on Friday evening. Please do not arrive at the school before then. After everyone is checked-in, there will be a short welcome meeting with the corps' management before attendees break off into sections. Throughout the weekend, our staff will observe how you work within the group and conduct individual auditions to determine your overall grade for the weekend. We will finish on Sunday afternoon around 1:00 PM.
All prospective members will be provided with sleeping accommodations at the school for the weekend. Don’t forget to bring an air mattress, toiletries, and a towel! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack will also be provided for camp attendees, starting with snack on Friday and ending with breakfast on Sunday. Please make sure to eat dinner before coming for registration!
To ensure your safety and security, all SCV audition camps operate as a closed campus. No one is permitted to leave the campus unless you have approval from the director. If you have any conflicts with the schedule, please let us know as soon as possible.
TRANSPORTATION/SHUTTLES:
Those flying into the DFW area to join us for the weekend should fly into DFW and/or DAL. Vanguard Shuttles to the airport and transportation centers will be available for prospective members Friday evening until 6:30 PM. Shuttles will resume on Sunday for departures. Please try to time your departure from an airport or transportation center after 4:00 PM on Sunday. Don't forget to fill out a shuttle request in MySCV as soon as you set your travel plans!
